It is a beautiful day in the North Carolina mountains! When I saw these lovely flowers, it made me think of how much God loves beauty and innocence. In Song of Solomon (also known as Song of Songs) verses 2:1-2, God uses the flower to speak of His love of ladies (referred to as maidens) who have been set apart. Different than other ladies. He actually refers to the other women as "thorns".
Song of Songs 2:1-2
“I am the rose of Sharon,
The lily of the valleys.”
“Like a lily among the thorns,
So is my darling among the maidens.”
I am an older woman now, but how I wish I would have remained pure as a young lady. Perhaps it is not too late for you.
It would be so very exciting as a young person to really determine who I wanted to be for God and to go on that sacred search for the love of my life. But, remember....finding a spouse is not near as important as seeking God and living a life pleasing to Him.
Always remember who you are and who you want to become! Never compromise to try to fit in with the culture or give in to peer pressure. Ultimately, you may gain popularity, but you will lose your dignity and self respect.
There is nothing more pleasing in life than knowing you are in Christ! If you haven't given your life to Him, I'm sure you think.....how could that be so great?? Sounds boring to me. But....when you are living for Christ, there is a joy that is unspeakable. It cannot be explained, it is a peace that surpasses all understanding. You will have to draw close to Him and truly seek a relationship with Him to know this kind of joy, but it is worth it.
Just a thought:
What do flowers symbolize in the Bible? There is a lot of interesting reading if you do a search for this question. It truly appears that flowers have quite a significance in the Bible.
Flowers in the Bible are symbols of delicate life and beauty. They are used to convey messages of God's comfort as well as messages of the perishable nature of man.
