Sometimes I wish I would have lived in the Victorian or Edwardian Era! It seemed so sweet and innocent, and young ladies were taught (for the most part) to have character and integrity.
Men or boys had to ask permission from the Dad to "court" or date the daughter and they were not usually allowed to be alone without a chaperone. Some of you probably think that would be horrible, but was it?
I believe this dedication to purity saved these young ladies much sorrow when they grew older. Less regrets.
I'm not saying that if you have fallen short of God's Glory as it pertains to sexual purity that you are damaged goods and no longer loved by God. He loves you and wants the best for your life.
If you have made a mistake as it pertains to your purity before God, go to Him and ask for forgiveness. But...then you must turn from your ways and walk according to God's plan for your life. You can make a change midstream in your life. God is always faithful to help you through any challenge and to wash you white as snow.
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.Isn't that good to know? He will set you on a new path, one where you can reclaim your innocence.
There is a series called Anne of Green Gables set in the late 1800's/early 1900's that is so fun to watch. I for those days long past, and this series is so sweet. Here is the best version that I have found. There are multiple versions out there, but this one is by far the best.
Such a sweet show, and the Sequel and Continuing Story as just as good. Hope you can watch it some time and enjoy an escape from the culture of today!
